Dante is an emerging Canberra-based flautist currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the Australian National University (ANU) under the tutelage of internationally renowned flautist and academic Dr Sally Walker. Having only recently been introduced to the Baroque Flute, Dante has made multiple appearances including with the Canberra Bach Ensemble for their production of the St John Passion in March 2024.
In the same year, Dante was one of five Canberra Symphony Orchestra Kingsland Fellows and won both Third Prize and the Llewellyn Choir Award for Most Outstanding Instrumentalist at the Whitworth Roach Classical Music Competition. In 2023, he was selected as a semi-finalist for the Australian Flute Festival’s Open Competition and, in 2022, was awarded the Leonard and Margaret Doman Scholarship for Undergraduate Flute.He has performed as Principal Flute of the ANU Orchestra as well as in a variety of solo and chamber music settings.
