The Accompanied Keyboard

Apeiron Baroque: Too Many Strings

13th November 2022 5pm

A concert for Fortepiano and Violin written during the eras of Enlightenment and Revolution. When considering Sonatas for Violin and Piano, one thinks of two equal partners in music or perhaps the Violin as the dominant instrument of the pair. In the early-Classical and late-Baroque eras; the keyboard was the main instrument, and the Violin was the accompanist! Performing on historical instruments, Apeiron will present works by Edelmann, CPE Bach, Pisendel, and Boccherini. There is much more to Classical-era music than Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven!

Feedback

Impressive debut from new baroque duo

"Ma... obviously enjoying himself on stage... Searles is more restrained with the occasional smile"

"...quite delightful, though nothing of the concert disappointed in any way"

"This was a most impressive first concert for this duo. This might well be the start of some very interesting music making in Canberra and I look forward to hearing what they do next."
