James Holland has recently returned to Sydney after many years living in France, performing as a soloist, accompanying singers, and playing basso continuo with various ensembles including The Gabrieli Consort, Vox Luminus, Le Concert Spirituel, English Touring Opera and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. James also loves teaching and was an active member of the Early Music Department in the Dieppe Conservatorium of Music from 2012 - 2025, teaching the lute, ensembles, chamber music and accompanying singers.
